Washington County Telecommunications Infrastructure Assessment and Plan - In a collaborative study with the Sunrise County Economic Council, EMDC, and many private sector service providers, the plan surveyed over 6,000 residents and businesses to determine level of satisfaction with existing services and demand for improvements. Existing infrastructure providing cellular and high speed internet services is described using GIS mapping, analysis of existing and emerging technology, and private sector interviews. The study also includes municipal ordinance models, tower lease examples, and innovative concealment techniques in historic structures and natural landscapes.

Penobscot River Restoration Project Overview - The Penobscot River Restoration Project is a 5 plus year plan for the purchase, removal and decommissioning of key dams in the lower Penobscot. The project will improve access to over 500 miles of natural fish habitat. Working with PPL Corporation, the power company that owns the dams, a non-profit orgnization will purchase the dams. The Great Works and Veazie dams will be removed, and fish passage will be improved at the Milford and Howland dams. Power production will be more than 90% maintained through increased or new production at dams along the Stillwater and other areas off the Penobscot. Successful implementation of the project will revive not only native fisheries but social, cultural, and economic traditions of New England's second largest river - the Penobscot.
