SEED-Strategic Employment for Economic Development

Do You Need Great New Employees?

The recently launched SEEDS (Strategic Employment for Economic Development) program wants to help you connect with the skilled and experienced individuals who have come to the Career Center in Bangor (45 Oak Street) looking for work.

Job seekers in the SEEDs program have been pre-screened by Career Advisors in an effort to better match them, their talents and experience with businesses in Penobscot, Piscataquis and Hancock counties.  SEED is not a job training program. It matches job seekers with job opportunities.

"We're bringing businesses potential employees who are true matches for them. We've taken the step of addressing what the employee has to offer and connecting them with the employers who need those skills. The SEEDs program is about relationships and making them happen," says EMDC Business Development Specialist, Marie Hayden.

The SEEDs program currently has job seekers in the following professions: healthcare, administrative support, hospitality, retail, construction and others.

Benefits to Business
Working with SEEDs provides our partner businesses with assurance that the candidates they interview have REAL potential to be their next GREAT employee.

Job seekers with SEEDs are pre-screened—meaning only candidates who meet your requirements will be referred to you for interviews.

If you or someone you know have employment opportunities available or with questions about the SEEDs program, please contact Marie Hayden at 942-6389 or
