A New Model for the Tri-County Area

By bringing the workforce services in-house, EMDC's new model will allow the Tri-County region to develop new and more responsive programs and services that address businesses, communities and workers' needs in a more comprehensive cost-effective manner. While the individual economic and workforce programs provide the following benefits to the Job Seeker and Businesses we believe these types of benefits will be enhanced and delivered more effectively through an integrated approach. A few examples of current services that will be enhanced include:

  • Single point of contact for all economic development and workforce services reducing the complexity of accessing current services.
  • Access to funds to train newly hired employees using OJT, Apprenticeship or customized training creating quicker access to a skilled workforce.
  • Discount on loans when using our workforce system to fill new job openings.
  • Provides opportunity to assist in developing customized education and training packages that meet business demands.
