Boost Rural Tourism with Increased Internet Speeds

Posted March 25, 2015  The road to increased tourism may in part rely on universal access to high-speed broadband and reliable cell phone service.  An opinion piece published in the Bangor Daily News authored by David Vail and Carla Dickstein notes that this infrastructure is needed to attract the sophisticated, high-income, overnight visitors - a key target audience.  It is also critical to attract mobile entrepreneurs, educated young people, and second home owners to rural Maine.
