Local Businesses Get Boost from EMDC’s Growing Lending Team

Bangor – Eastern Maine Development Corporation (EMDC) is pleased to welcome Loan Officer/Credit Analyst, Tom Stewart, to their lending department. Tom brings over 20 years of industry experience to their team.

Working with start-ups and existing businesses statewide, EMDC partners with funding institutions including the U.S. Small Business Administration, Finance Authority of Maine, and other organizations to offer financing alternatives. “Tom’s lending and relationship management experience will continue to foster partnerships, and help Maine businesses receive the critical funding they need to grow,” said EMDC’s Director of Business Lending & Investments, Joshua McIntyre.

A graduate of the University of Maine in Machias, Tom previously worked as a Revenue Cycle Analyst for Northern Light Health, and as Branch Manager at Down East Credit Union. Tom joins EMDC’s new Portfolio & Business Development Specialist, Nancy Newell; longtime Senior Portfolio Manager, Rhonda Amsden; and Director of Lending & Investments, Joshua McIntyre.

“This will expand EMDC’s effort to provide friendly, flexible lending services that promote start-ups, and boost existing small businesses,” said EMDC’s President & CEO, Lee Umphrey. “As a valued-added component, EMDC’s lending team works closely with our Workforce team to ensure that those receiving loans are guided in recruiting and retaining the best employees for their growing businesses.”
