Ashley Schwartz

Ashley has served as Special Assistant to the President since 2023. Prior to her time here at EMDC, Ashley has worked in a variety of fields including healthcare, higher education, and legal services, bringing a broad set of experience to the company. She has a Masters’ degree in Global Policy with a focus in development and environmental policy from the University of Maine and Bachelors’ degrees in English and Business Administration from Green Mountain College where she also studied abroad in India taking courses in Buddhist philosophy and art. For the last three years, she has served on the Orono Planning Board, and is passionate about community engagement. Hailing from Piscataquis county, Ashley is excited to bring her expertise to the area she grew up in and throughout the state. When she isn’t in her garden or curled up with a book, Ashley enjoys exploring the mountains, trails, and shorelines across the state with her husband and children.
