AmeriCorps Program Manager

The AmeriCorps Program Manager is responsible for administration delivery of contracted AmeriCorps services at EMDC.  Deliverables include, but are not limited to: program development and administration, supervision of AmeriCorps members, recordkeeping and reporting, and community relations.  The position requires thorough knowledge of AmeriCorps processes and procedures, along with local community partners and options for volunteerism.  The position requires significant public interaction through presentations, meetings, and training events. The EMDC AmeriCorps Collaborative program is integrated with the WIOA Youth program so requires a thorough understanding of WIOA programming requirements.

Youth Career Advisor

EMDC is hiring a full-time Youth Career Advisor for direct delivery of services to customers from application through job placement and follow-up. The Career Advisor works with customers to develop and execute employment and training plans, utilizing appropriate resources and support services per program guidelines.

Workforce Development Specialist

We are currently looking for a Workforce Development Specialist that will work specifically in the National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP). Duties may include outreach with potential employers helping to identify their workforce needs, as well as identify job placement and career opportunities for NFJP customers. The Specialist will coordinate these visits and ensure that all employment leads are followed up on. They will assist Career Advisors with mock interviewing, resume and cover letter reviews, and job placement possibilities.

Northern Maine AmeriCorps Collaborative

We are looking for energetic individuals who have a passion for working with people in their communities. Members of this program will increase economic opportunity for communities by engaging youth as AmeriCorps members. Serving at host sites in Penobscot, Hancock and Piscataquis counties, Northern Maine AmeriCorps members will have the opportunity to assist non-profit agencies. Host sites consist of educational institutions, municipalities, non-profits and faith-based organizations.
