The Accounting Associate performs a variety of general support tasks in the accounting department. They verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records. This position will share responsibility for payables and receivables including general ledger coding, inputting invoices to payable system.
Maine PTAC Procurement Counselor
The Procurement Counselor is a staff member of the Maine Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC). Specific responsibilities include training and one-on-one counseling with small business clients on becoming qualified bidders and successful contractors to federal, state, and local government agencies. This position requires strong client counseling skills and the ability to build professional relationships with government agencies and prime contractors. While experience in the government contracting marketplace is preferred, we welcome candidates with experience as a business counselor who possess a strong interest and aptitude for learning government contracting regulations and procedures and then teaching them to small businesses. This position is based in Southern Maine.
Economic Development Director
The Economic Development Director will serve in a leadership role to plan, promote, develop and implement a strategic plan for the Katahdin region that expands and retains business and industry to ensure the region’s economic vitality. The Director serves as the primary link between businesses, industry, community groups and agencies, developers and funders and works closely with entities involved in education, workforce development, tourism, transportation community development and state, federal and local development efforts to promote economic development projects that retain and/or creates new jobs in the Katahdin region. This individual will work as an employee of Eastern Maine Development Corporation (EMDC), and will receive work assignments and direction from the Katahdin Region Development Board (KRDB) in conjunction with EMDC.
Under general supervision, the Accounting Manager supervises and ensures timely billing procedures, produces accurate and timely grant reports, and performs cash reconciliation, as assigned. Knowledge and understanding of Office of Management & Budget requirements for non-profits is critical for this position. The Accounting Manager assists with year-end audit preparation and contract management processes and provides back-up support to the Director of Finance in areas of finance and administration.
