Creating economic development opportunities in Eastern Maine since 1967
Celebrating 50 years of commitment to economic growth in Eastern Maine, EMDC is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that proudly serves Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis and Waldo counties.
At EMDC we take a holistic approach to economic development by offering three services to our communities; Business Services, Community Development, and Workforce Programs cover almost 11,000 square miles with a population of over 250,000.
Whether it’s developing a comprehensive plan, revitalizing a downtown, or helping a community expand daycare facilities, our Community Development Services can help create sound and healthy environments. Business Services offer everything from financing the next step in your business’s path to success to technical support. And EMDC’s Workforce Program offers education and training, employment and career assistance, as well as support services.
