EMDC offers paid mentorships and training to people ages 16-24, providing individualized support while they build the skills necessary to thrive in the workforce environment. Participants receive hands-on experience in a work setting and one-on-one career counseling — all while earning a paycheck.
Youth workforce participant, Graça came to the US from Angola seeking asylum. After two On-The- Job-Trainings with senior electricians, Graça has been thriving at both work and Washington County Community College, where he was recognized as the WCCC 2022 Student of the Year!
As a young mother, I felt unsure of what steps to take to begin a career. I was introduced to EMDC, and it gave me the courage and confidence to want to further my education, and set myself up for success.
EMDC has introduced me to an array of resources I never knew existed, let alone were so easily available to people like me. My Work Experience with EMDC has and continues to teach me crucial skills and confidence that I will carry with me throughout the rest of my career.
