Through a partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, we secured funding through a Brownfields grant that led to an assessment of the former Verso Paper Mill site in Bucksport for Whole Oceans’ aquaculture facility. We identified contaminants and hazardous materials and suggested simple remediation options that will further catalyze revitalization, and retain and attract new business.
